Our little guy got his first shiner yesterday. He had a rough couple of days and fell and hit his head several times, so he's got a couple bruises on his forehead. But, when he tripped on a toy and fell against the coffee table his little eye bruised up immediately. The good news is that he is really a tough kid. He barely cries when he falls down. He skins his knees outside all the time and it doesn't phase him. He did cry for about half a minute on this occasion, though. I know he'll get lots more bumps and bruises, but boy is it embarrassing to take your child to Wal-Mart with a black eye! I feel like I have to explain his clumsiness to everyone. This picture really doesn't do it justice. It's really purple looking and very obvious.

...oh, and there's more to come! Falls from bikes and falls from trees, silly stunts that backfire, fingers pinched in drawers and cabinets...the list goes on! Nothing a little kiss can't fix.
Maybe he just bruises easy because he has such soft and silky skin. :) I really think he should win some award for that!
Hey happy little man! You sure have a big shiner! The only thing mommy has to explain is that you are a hard playing BOY! Boys are supposed to have bumps and bruises.
