Big Stretch

I got a cute picture of Ethan stretching after a nap yesterday. He arches his back and balls up his fists and stretches just as hard and as far as he possibly can. It's so funny to watch.

Grandma and Grandpa (my parents) are coming to visit Ethan this weekend and they are super excited. We are pretty excited to see them, too. We are getting Ethan's pictures taken again this weekend. He has changed so much since we got them done last--at two weeks old. I am hoping that he will keep his eyes open for these! He is so hard to wake up once he is asleep. I even vacuumed the house the other day while he was napping and he never even stirred. I think Ethan finally smiled at me yesterday. It made me so happy to see his litle grin.

Crafty

I decided that we needed to put something on Ethan's walls. Since we live in an apartment, we can't paint and he really has the most unstimulating space. Anyway, I bought wooden letters to spell out his name and covered them with different scrapbook paper. I think it turned out okay, and at least now there is a little bit of decoration.

Here are a couple of pictures from today. The last one he is sitting up in a Bumbo chair. He sure looked cute sitting in it, but it only lasted for a few minutes before he decided that it wasn't for him! He's a little young for it anyway, but we had to give it a try!

6 Weeks

Ethan is 6 whole weeks old today. He is changing so much. He has been a lot more alert and interactive this past week. We are loving and enjoying every minute with him, even those 3am minutes. Although, we wouldn't mind if he skipped a few of those! Really, he's sleeping 3-4 hour stretches at night (getting up twice) so that's not too bad. We took a video of him standing "on his own" with mommy's help for a little balance! His little legs are so strong and he'll hold himself upright a lot of the time.

I have seen him smile at me a couple of times, too. But, I'm not really sure if he meant to do it yet or not. Today, I took a couple of pictures of him while he was sleeping in my arms, so that's why the quality of the pictures aren't the best. He gets his eyes and his mouth moving when he is sleeping and I get to see him practicing his smile.

He has also been losing some of his hair lately. I don't know what's going on with that, but he still has all of his hair on the back and sides--only losing the top part, so he looks like an old man with male pattern baldness. I'm sure it will come back, but for now he looks kind of silly. Poor little guy...

Happy Birthday Ben!

Today is Ben's birthday! I'm going to make him a nice dinner here at home, but other than that we don't have anything too exciting planned. Here's a picture of the birthday boy with Ethan.

We are enjoying the weekend with Tyler and Heather. They came to see Ethan for the first time. We'll probably spend most of the time hanging around the house playing games, making cookies, and such because it's pretty cold and a little snowy here.

New 'Do

I needed a haircut so badly. I needed one before Ethan was born and now 5 weeks later, it was getting unbearable to do and probably to look at! Anyway, I went and got it cut and decided to try something new; I went with bangs. It's definitely different, but I think I like it.

4 Weeks Old

How is this even possible? Ethan had his 1 month well child visit yesterday and is now up to 9lbs. He is getting cuter every day...at least we think so. We took his picture with his pediatrician and my OB doctor and nurse.

I wanted to share another fun picture. I know....I'm one of "those" mothers that can't stop sharing pictures of their kids, but I figure grandparents want to see their grandson! So, if you're tired of the pictures...forgive me :-) The other day we were putting Ethan to bed and I guess he didn't want to go. He wouldn't let go of my shirt!

Overalls

I love little boys in overalls! Ethan had his on yesterday and I couldn't resist taking pictures. The third picture cracks me up. Ethan and Ben have the same expression! We also tried a little video of him having "tummy time" with Daddy. He likes to try to turn over when he is on Ben's belly and he ends up rolling off!
