Grandma and Grandpa

Since I wasn't able to go home this weekend, my parents came up to see us. I am still bummed about missing my 10 year class reunion, but I hear Becca took lots of pictures for me! We had a nice time with Grandma and Grandpa here, though. I got to take it real easy and am doing well.

My parents had to stay at a hotel because our guest room is a disaster due to moving boxes and such. We took Ethan out and tried the pool. He wasn't such a fan this time, but he looked pretty cute in his little swim trunks. Look at that farmer's tan!

Rest

We had a crazy night here. Ethan almost always sleeps through the night without a peep, but last night he woke up and could not get back to sleep. We were all awake for about 2 hours. Great--he's always super fun to be around when he's short on sleep. Then I woke up early to a nasty surprise. I've been spotting off and on for about a week and today I woke up really bleeding and passed a clot. My day is getting better and better. I was scheduled to have another ultrasound today anyway, but I got to have an abdominal and trans-vaginal ultrasound, a biophysical exam, a CBC blood test, and a non-stress test. The baby passed every test and is doing fine. I, on the other hand, am now on bedrest for the third time this pregnancy. Hopefully, the bleeding stops in the next day or two. I was really looking forward to going home this weekend for my 10 year class reunion, but I guess that won't be happening now. The doctor thinks I should stay close in case we have more bleeding. So I am a little disappointed, but obviously very glad the baby is okay.

On a lighter note, we got Ethan a picnic table this past weekend and he is loving it! He's so cute sitting there to eat a snack or look at books. I even got him to color for the first time a little bit today.

Weekend Away

We just got home from a fun weekend in Kansas City. Ben got to help his brother fix up his new house on Saturday. Lots of family came to town to help with the effort, so we got to see Ethan's aunt, uncles, cousin, and grandparents. We also got to visit with my cousin and his family on Sunday and had a great time with them. I hadn't seen them for almost a year!

Then today, we went to the zoo. Ethan really seemed to enjoy it and pointed at all the animals. He pooped out halfway through the day, so we didn't make it all the way through, but it was super fun to see him get excited about some of the animals, especially when he could get close to them (like the sheep and parrots.)

Slacker

I have been slacking off on blog posting and picture taking lately. I have no new photos to share since I last posted. This picture was taken probably a month ago. We have been working on using a fork with Ethan. He still isn't any good at getting food on the fork, but he's great at putting it in his mouth if you load it up for him.

We've been busy doing this and that, but nothing very exciting. We are slowly getting our house packed up. Ben and I usually pack a box or two in the evening after Ethan goes to bed. Our guest room and our closet are stacked high with boxes and we still have a ways to go yet. I am excited to be in the new house and have a backyard and such, but boy do I hate the whole moving process.
I also had another OB appointment today. I continue to have the previa and have random spotting issues here and there, but Baby Brother is still doing well. I have yet another ultrasound next week and I head back to the doctor in two weeks. We are getting close to the end now. Ben and I need to sit down and pick a birthday for this little guy. My doc said I could choose the date pretty much any time I wanted (subject to change if we have problems, of course).
We are looking forward to heading to KC this weekend. We will get to visit with Ben's family and we are planning to go to the zoo. Ethan has been really interested in animals lately, so I am excited to take him there. Maybe I'll actually have some new pictures to share after the weekend!

Shiner

Our little guy got his first shiner yesterday. He had a rough couple of days and fell and hit his head several times, so he's got a couple bruises on his forehead. But, when he tripped on a toy and fell against the coffee table his little eye bruised up immediately. The good news is that he is really a tough kid. He barely cries when he falls down. He skins his knees outside all the time and it doesn't phase him. He did cry for about half a minute on this occasion, though. I know he'll get lots more bumps and bruises, but boy is it embarrassing to take your child to Wal-Mart with a black eye! I feel like I have to explain his clumsiness to everyone. This picture really doesn't do it justice. It's really purple looking and very obvious.
