Orchiopexy.
That's the word of the day.
If you don't know (I had no idea), an orchiopexy is the surgery to move an undescended testicle into the scrotum. Maybe more than you really wanted to know. But, that's what is in Ethan's future. We had an appointment today with a urologist in Columbia and scheduled his surgery for February. Thankfully, they were able to palpate the testicle in his inguinal canal, which makes the whole thing much more minor, so I'm told. He won't even have to stay in the hospital. Still, I'm not looking forward to the whole thing. I keep telling myself that it's pretty routine and shouldn't be a big deal at all, but no one wants their baby to have surgery!

Sorry to hear he has to have the surgery, but glad to here it is going to be minor!
poor little man!!! I am glad it won't be super big, but still, your little baby having surgery would be rough!
Our best friends little guy just had this done, and it was simple. So fast, and easy. Nothing to worry about. Just make sure they start the IV in the back after they give him the happy gas, and you will be fine. (Most places do this already with children, but just make sure they do for you little man). The worst is handing them off to anesthesia. I always told myself to not let Carter see me cry at that point. The surgery will be over before you know it. When he wakes up, he will most likely be a bear, but all he needs is his mommmy. And, maybe a bottle of apple juice.:) Let me know if you need anything. I like to consider myself a pro at this after these past few months!!! He will be fine, and all will look so much better in February.
