Ethan loves his bathtime. He gets so calm and really enjoys being in the water. Maybe he will be a little swimmer when he gets older. We usually put him in the sink right now instead of using the baby bath tub. It's just easier for us. He's a modest boy, too, and covered up his boy parts with his little hand.

Sad Day
Yesterday was a rough one at the Schrant house. I took Ethan to get his two month immunizations (which I know he needed, but it was still hard to see him get poked.) He got two shots in one leg, one in the other, and then an oral one. He didn't like getting the shots too much, but he got over it really quickly and then was fine all morning. But, when he woke up at 1:00 to eat....oh man.....poor kid started screaming in pain. This is the first time he has really experienced any kind of pain and it was not pretty. I gave him some Tylenol and put a cold pack on his little leg, but he cried for a good 45 minutes. I felt so badly for him, I was crying right along with him. It didn't help that he got his tears in last week either. It was just heartbreaking holding him for that hour. I even called Ben I was so upset! Anyway, he seems to be back to normal now. We're good for two months, but then we are back for more shots. I'm sure Ethan has already forgotten the pain...let's hope I can do the same!

8 weeks
Yeah, Ethan is now 8 weeks old! We went to his well-child visit yesterday and he is now up to a whooping 12lbs. 4oz. and is 23 inches long. He's not having any trouble gaining weight now! He's been doing really well and getting more and more active and alert all the time. He's just starting to show a little interest in toys. The video below shows him playing with a jingly ball while he's sitting in his little bumbo chair. He's also been doing better at night time. Just this past week, we have cut down to only getting up once each night. Ben is now working with a pediatrician and she told him that by 8 weeks 50% of kids are sleeping through the night. Our child seems to be in the wrong 50%! But, at least we are getting better and working towards it.
Near the end of this video I turned the camera, so the picture flips sideways. I'm still learning how to do this video stuff well, so sorry about that.

Poopy Pant Schrant
We had a great weekend with Grandma and Grandpa! Ethan had so much fun being loved on. He'll probably go through some grandparent withdrawl now.

Funny story.....well, kind of funny, kind of gross....so read at your own risk!
On Saturday evening I was changing Ethan's diaper and while I was switching from the dirty one to the clean one, he pooped--big time--on his changing pad. So, I picked him up and called (actually yelled) for Ben because now he's dirty and his pad is really dirty and I have no place to put him down. Ben comes in and starts to help me wipe him up and clean the pad when I start feeling something warm and wet on my leg. Yes, that's right, while I was holding him up to clean the first mess he peed all over me, his new diaper, his sheets, his clothes, and his blanket. Nice....thanks a lot, Son. Sometimes Ben and I call him "Poopy Pant Schrant" and yesterday he definitely lived up to his nickname!
