So, Ben has these boots. These awful, ugly, disgusting boots. Actually, they were his Dad's boots, and he generously gave them to Ben. Thanks, Larry. I'm sure his Dad used them for the purpose they were intended for. Unfortunately, Ben does not. In my opinion, these boots were made for kicking around cow poop in a pasture somewhere, NOT for wearing around town.
Yes folks, my hubby wears these puppies around as much as he can get a way with. He puts them on to go to work, which would be fine if he was a farmer. But, he's not...he's an anesthesiologist who really doesn't even have to step in the grass to go to work. So, why, oh why does he feel the need to wear them? He loves them. I hate them. So, we argue every time he puts them on. He tries to sneak out of the house with them. I threaten to hide them or throw them out. Both of which will get me in trouble. I just don't understand it. I don't mind if he wears them for appropriate occasions. But work and Wal-Mart do not qualify.
Anyway, I'm done ranting...at least until he wears them the next time. Tell us what you think. Ben checks the comments on this blog and I could use some back up on this one! Although, let's be honest, it really won't matter. He'll continue to wear them, and I will continue to complain about them.

Unfortunately Laci, I'm going to have to take Ben's side on this weird debate. People generally don't pay much attention to what's on a person's feet (especially at Walmart), rather they look at the face. Plus, it serves as an aid to making Ben feel more "out-doorsey." It makes him happy.
I'm sure Ben is not allowed to wear boots in the O.R. He probably has to change out of his boots into work-appropriate foot wear.

LOL. J has a pair just like them (well, the same sort of situation anyway). I don't get it either Lou. My advice: don't waste your breath-you're a 100% right-he'll just wear them anyway. Love you!
"These boots are made for walkin'..." and huntin' and fishin'. Omigosh! I hope he's not in the operating room or walking up and down hospital corridors or in and out of patient rooms with those! You were able to resolve the white socks under dress pants, and so now we've got the dress shoes vs. work boots dilemma. Even though Ben's a doctor now, those boots always bring him back home again to Dad and Grandpa and good times! So when you get a house, put them by the back door.
