It finally feels like spring. I swear, this winter felt like it lasted forever! Kirksville really is beautiful this time of year. I had never seen a magnolia tree before we moved here, and now it is probably the thing I look forward to the most. There are so many other pretty trees, bushes, and flowers out this time of year, too. The one thing I do miss from home is lilacs. They just don't have them here, and as some of you know lilacs are my absolute favorite.
The other thing that spring brings to town is Kirksville's annual clean up where residents can make a pile of trash in their yard to be hauled away. I think it makes the town look like a dump for about a month. Don't get me wrong, lots of people love it. They get a chance to get rid of all of their unwanted things and some people even like to go treasure hunting through other peoples junk. I, however, think it makes a perfectly nice lawn look trashy.

Oh those trees are so pretty! The Lilacs are just starting to get little leaves on them here in Duluth - spring is on its way!
oh girl, you would not believe the pictures i have of the k-ville clean up. you would die laughing. i must admit that i took something from one of my neighbors once, but i knew them, does that make it better? =)
I love it when the trees bud out! Some of my flowers are starting to come up in my flower bed! I'm way excited to see what is going to come up every year. Your junk pile picture makes me laugh!! When are you coming back to Hays? We could go get icecream like old times! Miss ya tons!

I will truly miss the beloved Kirksville Clean Up! Where else can you put your junk and trash out on the street (when it is not garbage day) and 20 minutes later, it all be gone! I think that some people in town have a radar to know when new stuff hits a curb! You gotta love this town and all it's craziness!
