18 Months

How is it possible that my baby is 18 months old today?! He is such a funny little boy and just as cute as can be. He's getting such a great personality. He still loves his trucks and tractors and really anything that has wheels. He is also learning his letter sounds and likes to play with our magnetic letters. He's still pretty quiet as far as talking is concerned, but he's probably got 20 or 30 words now. He has this great ornery laugh that he does and it cracks me up every time. He loves to eat and gets pretty angry if Ethan gets something that he doesn't. He really likes Mickey Mouse right now and anytime the TV is on, he is asking for "Di-Dee". He wants to be outside any chance he gets and he'll run and play as long as you let him. We love you little Wyatt!

Ethan wanted is picture taken this morning, too.

Yesterday, we went to the bank and the boys got suckers. It was the first time Wyatt got to have his own. He loved it and he did great (minus all the sticky drool!)

Merry Christmas

We stayed home for Christmas this year and since the boys were sick all last week, it's a good thing. We got a great Christmas present. For the first time in 8 days, no one threw up on Christmas eve! Yay for finally being well! We went to Christmas eve service and came home and the boys unwrapped their new pjs from Grammy and Grampa. Then we had a nice little Christmas morning complete with Ben's homemade cinnamon rolls. The boys seemed to like all their gifts and it was even nice enough to take out the new bike and scooter in the afternoon.

Here's all of my handsome boys before church.

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas.
Now, Ben is doing his last week in St. Louis and we are so excited for him to be done. I need to get busy getting things ready for Ethan's birthday! I have no idea how we are going to fit more toys in this house!

Christmas--Round 1

My parents came to visit to celebrate Christmas with us. We had a great time and got spoiled, of course. Unfortunately, the boys and I were sick for the whole time they were here. Ben also got sick, but he was back in St. Louis for his fun. This stomach bug that we got has been horrible. The kids are having a hard time kicking it. I'll spare you the details, but it has not been a pretty week around here. I'm surprised my washing machine hasn't gone on strike!

I've also been meaning to share some funnies from Ethan.

The other day Wyatt dropped a truck on Ethan on accident and Ethan started crying. After comforting him, he was still being a bit dramatic about it, so I told him to finish crying in his room and to come out when he was ready. After he came out he was sitting around and I told him to go play. He said, "Mom, I'm just pretty mad!" He was so serious. I had to laugh.

Ethan woke up from a nap last week and was sitting on my lap. After awhile, I tried to get him up and he told me, " I'm feeling really rough. I woke up 2 mornings ago." Whatever that means, it made me smile.

And finally, Ethan's teacher often puts up artwork from the kids around the room They did a paint project with blue and yellow paint. The point of the activity was to mix the two colors and see that it made green (also it's a fine motor exercise, etc.) Some children completely covered their paper. Anyway, my very anal and clean child participated with the paint, but didn't let his blue paint touch his yellow paint. I knew which picture was his as soon as I saw the wall. That's totally my son's personality on a piece of paper. I love it!

Christmas Pageant

Ethan and Wyatt were in their first church Christmas pageant today. They were both very cute. The older kids did the pageant and the toddlers and preschoolers got to be the nativity scene. Ethan was Joseph and Wyatt was a little angel.

Here's the boys this morning. I got them dressed up in their ties for the occasion.

In their costumes--I couldn't get either of them to keep those headbands on!
Ben took video of it, but I couldn't get it to upload. It's okay, the footage wasn't too exciting. You don't hardly see Wyatt in it and Ethan just stands there and later sits (playing with his headband the whole time!)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Grammy sent home gifts for the boys to open on St. Nick's day. They are enjoying their books and ornaments very much. I think I've read their new books about 20 times in the last 2 days. The boys also got a letter from Santa this week (courtesy of MeMa and PaPa). Ethan is loving all the extra mail that this season brings.

We also got some snow this week. We went out and scooped the driveway; it was still snowing and there really wasn't enough snow to bother with it, but the boys loved putting on thier snow boots and getting out in it.
