Ethan is 2 weeks old today. I can't hardly believe how much he has changed in just 2 short weeks. He went to the doctor again yesterday and we found out that he isn't gaining weight like he should be. So at least for now, we are supplementing his feedings with formula. We go back again on Friday for a weight check. Hopefully, this will do the trick. Other than that, Ethan is doing just great. He is really alert and is such a strong boy. Ben has had him on his tummy several times and he can already hold his little head up. Plus, we really think he'll be rolling over before we know it. He almost always rolls on his side when he is sleeping. Here are a few more pictures from this last week. We are just so blessed to have our wonderful little guy.

First Week with Ethan
Ethan is doing so great and is one week old today. We are learning how to take care of him and ourselves at the same time. Those first few days I had a hard time even remembering to do the basic things...like brush my teeth! We had a few rough nights, but he seems to be settling into things a little better. He had his best night yet yesterday. We gave him his first sponge bath this week and he went to his first doctor's appointment yesterday. He has gained back half the weight he lost in the hospital, so we're happy about that. Ben says he is getting a lot cuter lately too, and I have to agree. Here are some pictures of our little man to enjoy.

Proud Grandparents
Ethan is the first grandchild on both sides of our family, so consequently he has some very happy and proud grandparents. Fortunately, all four have been able to come visit him already. My Mom is staying here this week to help us out as I recover and figure out how to be a mommy myself. Ethan is such a lucky boy to have so many people who love him!

Ethan is home!
Ethan James was born on Wednesday, January 7. He weighed 8lb 1oz. and was 21.5 inches long. We went into the hospital around 5am and by 7 my water had broken. Things started moving pretty fast after that. Dr. Boling got concerned about our little man when his heart rate started decelerating at the wrong time, so he decided to help him out a little early with an emergency c-section. Everything went well and he came to see us at 9:04. We just got home today and everything is going great! I'm moving a little slow, but other than that I am feeling alright. Ben has been quite the proud papa. We are enjoying visiting grandparents, too.

Coming soon...
I just got back from my weekly doctor visit. He now tells me that I am dilated over 4cm and he just doesn't know what's keeping this baby from coming out! Hopefully, he'll decide to make an appearance soon. I continue to feel pretty good. I've been more comfortable in my life, but really, I have nothing to complain about. Today was Ben's first day on his OB rotation with my doctor, so I got to be his patient for the first time, which was only a little weird--for both of us! Everything seems to be going fine and we'll just continue to wait. We'll post news and pictures soon....we hope!
