16 week appointment

We had our second doctor's appointment on Monday. We thought that he might do an ultrasound, but we're going to wait until next time. Everything looked good. Ben was there and got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. It was a pretty easy appointment, nothing exciting to share, except that all is well.

As I was leaving the nurse told me that I needed to go do a blood test, though. For those of you that don't know, I hate doing that! I get so nervous and I've almost passed out a couple of times. I know that's ridiculous, but I can't help it! I hadn't prepared myself mentally for it, however I decided to go down and get it over with anyway. I was fine until she started taking out all of the different vials that they needed. She took 7 vials of blood! I couldn't believe it. Luckily, the lady did a really good job and was quick. It seems like I am fine, as long as I don't watch.

The doctor asked me if I had felt the baby move yet. And really, I'm not sure. I guess I don't know what I am feeling for. I've had some odd sensations, but who knows if they were actually the baby moving. Hopefully in the next few weeks, I'll learn to recognize it. I am just starting to get a little bit of a bump. It kind of depends what shirt I'm wearing if you can tell or not, but my pants are definitely tighter! Here's a picture of me that we took after church on Sunday.

Hey Lac! I read your post to momma Gittinger. She says you'll feel a "flutter" ...that's the baby moving. I think you look great! We can't wait to find out what the sex of your baby is! I'm glad Ben got to hear little Schrant's heart beat. Talk to you later!

I don't know to to describe it Lou...the first time I felt Claudine it like when someone draws their finger lightly across your skin, only on the inside. The second time I felt her it was a KICK that I couldn't doubt! Jason couldn't feel it for the longest time and while he was sad about that I was kinda pleased. :) It's like you and your baby have your own little secret...silly probably but I loved every minute of it anyway. Honestly I don't remember Eli's first moves. I just remember thinking "Oh, there you are!" and then waiting for the next one. I was a lot more patient with the second pregnancy. Maybe that's why he's so easy going! I love the pic! You'll have to send me some more as you get bigger.

You look so cute! I hate getting my blood taken....I usually cry and the nurse's always uses the smallest needles. I thought I was going to die when they took so much blood for all of the test they do. Crazy. You look so great and I am glad everything is going well!
