Relaxing weekend

We had a great weekend. It was the first time in a very long time that we didn't have to be anywhere or have any visitors here. It was so relaxing. I even went to get my hair cut on Saturday. I hadn't done that since last April--about 9 months ago. Really, I could have done it much sooner, I just kept putting it on the back burner. Anyway, it's a little shorter than I had in mind, but I think I like it. It sure needed something. In the evening, Ben took me out for a really nice dinner and then we got some ice cream for dessert. It was a nice birthday.

Belly Laughs

I told Ben yesterday that I have been short on blogging material. It's just been one of those weeks where nothing much happens. Don't get me wrong, Ethan makes every day interesting. But, you know, that day to day stuff isn't always worth a blog post. Anyway, I just wanted everyone to know that we are still kickin' here in the 'ville.

Ethan did bump his head on the coffee table the other day. Normally when he boinks his head he doesn't even notice. This time he was pretty upset. I could see why, too. He got a big goose egg and mark on his head immediately. Poor kid.

Oh, and tomorrow is my birthday. Another year older. 28. I used to love birthdays. I would count down the days and everything. They just don't hold the same magic anymore, but my family and friends have been great. I have already gotten several cards, gifts, and flowers. Plus, Ben is taking me out to eat tomorrow evening. Our neighbors are going to watch Ethan for us, so it will be like a real date! Thanks Orme's! We appreciate it!

Ethan was playing with Daddy tonight and got to laughing really hard--one of those good old belly laughs. There's nothing better than a baby's laughter.

Levi's baptism

We made a quick trip down to Kansas City this weekend to see Levi, our nephew, get baptized. Levi is such a little sweetheart and is growing so fast. It was really nice to see everyone and we got a nice Schrant family photo.

Even more birthday fun

That Ethan...he's such a lucky boy! Grandma and Grandpa Franklin came up to visit this weekend for Ethan's birthday (and mine, too!) That's two weekends in a row of all the love and attention he could ever ask for! We had such a good weekend. Ben had to go out of town for an anesthesia conference, so Ethan and I enjoyed spending time with Grandma and Grandpa ourselves. Big Man

Ethan had his one year well check today. He weighs in at 24lbs 3oz and is 29.5in long. He's 75 precentile for weight and around 40th for height. He's nice and healthy and happy as ever. I also took him in today to get his 4th set of immunizations. He got a shot in each leg and each arm. Poor kid--he did not like that too much, but he did really well and will hopefully be alright today. Knowing how he's done in the past, I expect that he'll be sore and upset later on.

Now for something more fun to read/watch. I was pushing Ethan and Lexie around the other day on one of our toys. When it was Lexie's turn to ride, Ethan started pushing her for me. I was so surprised he could even do it, so I took a little video of my big man!
