Happy Easter

Happy Easter! We aren't doing anything very exciting around here. Ethan is too little for Easter eggs and such, so we just went to church this morning and are enjoying a day together. Ethan did get a package from each of his grandparents for Easter, so don't worry, he didn't go without. Here's Ethan with Mommy and then with Daddy. We were home alone, so this is as good as it gets for a family picture today.


We've been having a lot of fun with Ethan looking at himself in the mirror lately. He smiles and giggles when he sees the little boy looking back at him.

Here's Ethan's sad face. It's neat to see him discover different emotions. We shouldn't laugh when he gets sad, but he's just got the cutest little pout; we can't help it!

This video is of Ethan "talking." Just this past week he has really started babbling a lot. I get to have all sorts of conversations with him throughout the day. What fun!

As a little bonus--watch him chewing on his tongue. Lately, he's been doing that constantly....funny boy.

Weekend in KC

We went to Kansas City for the weekend to see our good friends Matt and Laura and Ben's brother and our sister-in-law Danny and Vicki. We had such a great time visiting, eating out, playing games, and such. Danny and Vicki even treated us to a night of fondue that was super good! Below are pictures of everyone with Ethan. I just have to say...both of these are better pictures than Ben and I ever take with him! We need to work on getting a better family picture. Thanks for the fun weekend guys!

First Day

Yesterday was a big day for Ben. It was his first day of Anesthesia!! He's pretty happy to be done with the rotations. Now he is finally doing what he wants to do. It almost feels like he is starting his career...it's about time! He said his first day went fine. He was also on call for the first time last night. He got home from work around 5:00 and then about 15 minutes later his pager went off. So, back to the hospital he went. He was there for about 2 hours and was able to come back and spend a little time with Ethan before he went to bed. Luckily, he didn't get called in the middle of the night. That's pretty good, I'd say!
Congrats Benj...I'm so proud of how far you have come!
