Snow Much Fun

Merry Christmas
Ho Ho Ho! As I type this it is snowing a lot here. It's going to be a really white Christmas for us. We have had a long week, so it's nice to see the weekend here and we are hoping Daddy doesn't get called in too much and can spend most of the holiday with us.
Wyatt has been so, so much happier now that he feels better. That little virus or whatever he had really got to him. I kind of forgot what a happy baby he normally is! He is just a few days shy of being 6 months now. He is rolling over from his belly to his back and almost able to do it the other way. He rotates clear around on the floor and is moving more and more all the time. He's also getting his first tooth in!

Ethan is doing great. He is definitely about to turn 2! He can get quite the little attitude sometimes, but most of the time he is so fun to be around. We are trying to potty train this week. He is actually doing pretty well. I kind of thought that we'd be in diapers for another 6 months or year, even. But, he has really shown an interest in it, so we are giving it a go. I'm still not sure that he's 100% ready to train. He goes #1 on the potty really well, but we're still working on #2. We have a "poop party" for him when he does succeed with his own little bowl of ice cream.

Merry Christmas to all of our family and friends. We love and miss you all!

And it begins...
My parents came to see us this weekend to celebrate Christmas with us. We are not able to go home this year because Ben is on call. It was so nice to have them. The boys loved it and they got majorly spoiled--and that was just the beginning. They, of course, have Christmas this weekend with us. Then, Ben's parents are probably coming the next weekend for Christmas/Ethan's 2nd birthday and my parents are back the weekend after that also for Ethan's birthday. That's 4 weekends in a row with presents for Ethan! That kid isn't going to know what to do with all his new toys! He will love every minute of it, though.
Thanks for everything Mom and Dad!
Here's MeMa and PaPa (as Ethan calls them) with the boys in their Christmas sweaters. Aren't they cute?!

Ethan was being a little ham for the camera and loving on his brother.

The boys really enjoyed opening their gifts (Wyatt needed a little help!)

One of the things Ethan got was a little laptop computer. He wouldn't let anyone else touch it! He's always getting shooed away from our computers, so he is pretty happy to have his own!

Happy Wheezer
Even up until this morning, I thought Wyatt just had a cold/snotty nose. Then he started wheezing. I called Ben to ask him what he thought I should do. He told me to call the doctor's office just to have him checked out. Well, I called them (at about 11:02) and they stopped taking patients for the day at 11:00. Great....now what....so I called Ben back and told him we couldn't get in. He just called our doctor directly and she said she was still at the office and just to come in. There are definitely some perks to knowing the doctors so well! Anyway, the doctor says he probably has brochiolitis. He has to have breathing treatments every 4 hours and she also prescribed a steroid for him. Poor guy! He was such a good boy and smiling at the nurse and doctor today. She said he was a "happy wheezer!" Nothing major, but we definitely want to keep him from getting pneumonia.

Colds
Nothing much going on here. Both boys have a bit of a snotty nose again. I think we are in for it this winter. Ethan really didn't get sick much at all last year, but it seems like this year we just get over one cold and then get another.
Here's Ethan and I sitting on the fireplace the other night.

Ethan really wanted to wear Daddy's coat a couple days ago. With the boots, he looks like he stepped out of the wild, wild west!

We started Wyatt on rice cereal this week. He's still learning, but doing okay with it. We took a video of him the first time he tried it, but it wasn't very exciting. He was just kind of expressionless. I'm not sure he even knew he had anything in his mouth! He's rolling over a bit more, but he kind of likes being on his tummy, so there's not too much incentive. He's definitely getting cuter all the time, though!

Presents!
Ethan and Wyatt got their first Christmas present of the season this week. Uncle Danny and Aunt Vicki sent the boys a Little Tikes car and a cute little book. I thought about making them wait until Christmas to get it out, but they don't know anyway and now Ethan has a fun new toy to play with :-) Ethan was so excited about the big box on the front porch. I'm not sure he knew what it was until we opened it and then he jumped right in and wanted to play before we got it put together--which was quite a process, by the way! Why are kid's toys always such a pain to put together?

I made Ethan hold Wyatt so that I could take a picture of the two of them in the assembled car. He just wanted to play and kept saying "out, out!" But I thought it was cute that Wyatt was actually holding on to the steering wheel for the picture!

This is just a fun picture of my two favorite boys. Wyatt isn't actually sitting up by himself. I have a hold of his hand to keep him upright.
